Friends of the Red Mill & Friends, Too
Volunteers have been an important part of The Red Mill Museum Village from its earliest days. In fact, the Museum could not have opened without their crucial contributions of time, ideas and skills. In 1987 the volunteer group decided to organize formally and the Friends of the Red Mill was born.

Who are the Friends?

The Friends of the Red Mill have many faces. Some have just moved to the Clinton area. Others have been here a long time but are interested in widening their circle of friends. Many are fascinated by history and want to be part of our local legend - the Red Mill. The Friends provide such essential services as donning costumed and leading school and adult tours; sitting at the welcome desk and Red Mill Shop; and helping out at special weekend events. They contribute office skills, help prepare exhibitions and work to conserve the collection.

The Friends meet on the third Monday of the month from September to May at 10:00 a.m. Monthly meetings feature speakers and field trips and excursions are popular outings. New members are always welcome!

Friends, Too: The Next Generation
Now, a new generation of volunteers—Friends Too—is forming. Their goal: organizing lively, creative fundraising events. First on the list is an elegant Victorian Doll Tea for mothers and daughters (ages 7-11). Other events, such as a Wine and Cheese party, Friday Evening June concerts, a Clinton House Tour, a Gala Dinner Dance and Auction, are being planned.

This energetic new group is also looking for new members. Come be a part of this younger crowd. Fun and new friends are guaranteed!

To join the Friends or Friends Too, call the Museum at 908-735-4101.
