Clinton, NJ – The Red Mill Museum Village is looking for creative individuals, groups and organizations to design and decorate holiday trees for the 2022 Festival of Trees. The decorated trees are to be judged in a contest, so bring on the talent! The winners of the following categories, Best Representation of Theme, Child’s Fantasy, Creative Genius, Most Traditional and Spirit of Nature will receive a cash prize of $100! In addition, the viewing public can vote for their favorite. The winners will be announced by the Museum. Decorating and displaying a tree will help to spark holiday spirit for thousands of visitors.
Each group or individual may participate by submitting an entry form found on the Museum’s website www.theredmill.org or through this link https://forms.gle/56qsmriM9dBdstGj8 .
Entry forms must be received by November 14th. The tree drop off and set up will be held on November 18th and 19st from 10-4pm. The trees will be on display beginning Thanksgiving weekend, November 25th – 27th and then Saturdays and Sundays starting December 3th – 18th
The kick-off begins on Thanksgiving weekend (Friday, November 25th through Sunday, November 27th from 10am – 6pm). The opening weekend coincides with the very popular Winter Village, an outdoor holiday market hosted by Marketspace Vendor Events (www.marketspacevendorevents.com) with over 45 unique craft artisans ready to help you wrap up your seasonal shopping. After visiting the German-style holiday market, step back into the Victorian era in Downtown Clinton with “Dickens Days,” and enjoy Father Christmas, carolers and a ride on a horse-drawn carriage (www.visitclintonnj.com ).
The display of trees will continue to be on view Saturdays and Sundays, December 3rd – 18th from 12-6pm. The trees and lights can also be viewed on the evening of Candlelight Night in Clinton on December 15th from 4-9pm.
All the proceeds will benefit the Museum and its mission to preserve and present the social, industrial and agricultural heritage of New Jersey.
